  Oscar R. Hughes, 68, a retired employee of Harrison Steel Casting Co., died at 6 p.m. Friday, March 9, 1979, apparently of a heart attack while enroute home from Huntington. His wife, Mildred, who was driving, was stopped at an intersection in Michigantown when Hughes died, according to Clinton County coroner Marjorie Eller. Hughes had a history of heart trouble.    Born December 22, 1910 at Oakwood, Ill., he was the son of John David and Rosa Bell Brown Hughes. He attended school at Sterling and Veedersburg.
  He lived most of his life at Williamsport, moving to Attica two years ago. He resided at 1406 S. Perry St. He was a molder and finisher at Harrison Steel for 35 years before retiring. Prior to that he farmed.
  He married Mildred Galloway on May 30, 1936 in Danville. She survives.
  Also surviving are two sons, Dean Hughes of Mellott and Norman Dale Hughes of Covington; two brothers, John Hughes of Newtown and Bennie Hughes of Huntington; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Holden of Mellott and Mrs. Nellie Holycross of Penrose, Colo.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. – thanks to S
